Glass Studio Equipment For Sale
(You can click on some of the pics for larger photos and more info. The missing photos will be added soon.)

The equipment listed here is primarily new in the original box with all the literature/manuals. Some items are new but don't have their original box or manuals, and some items are used (not abused). Please read the descriptions to see what is included with the item. Most of these things came from from industrial liquidators, large companies closing some operations, or industrial auctions. A few things are equipment from my own studio for which I no longer have a need. I will guarantee that the descriptions on all items are accurate. And while I will gladly try to help direct buyers to where they can obtain the information they need for installation, I cannot personally offer extensive free technical support on the equipment listed here. Offered for sale are the items (and any listed accessories) only. Proper installation and obtaining any needed tech support is the responsibility of the buyer. Most manufacturers are very helpful with support for their products.

I will be adding other items, both new and used, to this page when I have a chance. I will also add some more photos. The used items are in excellent working condition. I have decent quantities of some things, but these were all one-time deals so overall quantities are limited. It is first-come first-served as far as this equipment is concerned. Very simply put, whoever gets payment to me first gets the item(s). If you want any additional information about the things here you can either e-mail me at brad@handmade-glass.com or give me a call at 607-478-8683 (after 11am). I'm in upstate New York, about 50 miles west of Corning (90 miles southeast of Buffalo).

Type "S" Platinum Thermocouple complete with sheath

New/unused from spares room of closed factory. Complete type "S" platinum thermocouple assembly with ceramic sheath, 18 inches long (not the standard 12 inches). Thermocouple wire guage is 24 AWG (0.020 in.). I'm not sure about composition of thermocouple protection tube/sheath, possibly mullite, maybe alumina. 3 available. (Not sure of manufacturer either, but these look lke they may be from Capp USA.) Current price on an equivalent 18 inch type "S" type thermocouple assembly is well over $400.

If you are adventurous you can cut the tube and thermocouple to 12 inches (or less) for your furnace and use the remaining 6 (or more) inches in another furnace or your gloryhole. (You'll need another outer tube for the second thermocouple.) Talk about high tech - how many people do you know who actually know the exact temperature of their gloryhole? You could even set it up with a temperature controller for precise repeatable temperatures depending on what item you are making. Two platinum thermocouples for less than the normal price of a single one. Woo - Hoo!

SOLD OUT!

Omega type "K" Quick Disconnect Thermocouples

New/unused Omega Engineering type "K" thermocouples with quick disconnect mini plug (male) and inconel sheath. Omega part number KMQIN-MO8OU-800-IEC (metric part number - equivalent to KMQIN-032U-32). 800 millimeters (32 inches) long, sheath outside diameter 0.80mm (0.032 in). Thermocouple plug color is pale green instead of the USA standard yellow. Pale green is the international color coding for "K" type thermocouple plugs. Will mate with any "K" type plug that accepts mini connectors. Yellow female plug "K" type is also included so you don't have to hunt one down..

Fine wire diameter reacts very quickly to temperature changes. Made with special limits of error thermocouple wire for maximum accuracy. Can be bent to nearly any shape and will maintain that shape. Excellent for a lampworking (or any other type) oven that needs a highly accurate, fast response thermocouple. Mini quick disconnect plug on thermocouple is Omega part number SMP-K-M. Price of these thermocouples in the 2001 Omega catalog is over $32 each. I have about 2 dozen.

$15.00 each, plus shipping
