Eclipse Locktite Automatic Shutoff Gas Valve

An essential part of a reliable glass furnace safety system. This Eclipse manual reset, gas shut-off valve shuts off the gas supply in response to a power outage, or a signal from a flame safety relay or other safety device. The gas stays off until the unsafe situation is corrected and the valve is manually turned back on. UL listed for natural gas, LP gas and hydrogen, 30psi maximum pressure. 2" threaded iron pipe fitting. Has an internal relay with two outputs for alarms, automatic phone dialer, or whatever.

Watlow Anafaze 8CLS Temperature Controller

Eight fully independent control channels - control 8 separate ovens and/or furnaces at once!
User configurable for six different thermocouple types (J,K,R,S,T,B);
PID control (with autotune), time proportional, on/off, and distributed zero crossing* (DZC) output - DC millivolt and milliamp analog output is available with the optional Watlow/Anafaze Dual DAC converter (below);
Multiple, user programmable alarm and event outputs per channel.
Store up to different 8 jobs (programs) in memory, and access them by entering a job number. Each job is a set of operating conditions, including setpoints and alarms.
RS-232 / RS-485 serial interface (user selectable ) included for monitoring or control with your computer (software not included).

Add the optional ramp/soak EPROM (available from Watlow) and you have a unit that makes a Digitry GB4 look like something found at Toys 'R Us. (The catch being that the Watlow is correspondingly difficult to program due to the multitude of setup options.)
The 8CLS is essentially the same as the model that replaced it three years ago, the CLS208, with very few changes. The spec sheet for the CLS208, in Adobe PDF format, is available on the Watlow website. Unfortunately, info for the 8CLS is not there, but the specs are virtually identical to those listed in the spec sheet for the CLS208. The price of a CLS208 (without ramp/soak) is in the $2200 neighborhood. You can also download the manual for the CLS208. The 8CLS manual is available by mail from Watlow.
1/8 DIN size; 2 line/16 characters per line, backlit LCD display with plain English readout and programming prompts (not hard-to-decipher codes and symbols). Factory set up with 6 input channels as 0-20mA and 2 as thermocouple. Any, or all, of the milliamp inputs can be changed to thermocouple input by simply clipping a resistor on the circuit board. (I can do it for you if you aren't comfortable doing it yourself.)
Brand new in the box, includes 12V power supply, 50 terminal output block with ribbon cable, user's manual and mounting brackets. I have one left.

I also have a couple of used Anafaze Dual DAC digital to analog converters for these. They convert the DZC output signal of an 8CLS to a 4-20 milliamp signal for driving the DIN-a-mite SCR's below, or anything else that needs a 4-20 milliamp control signal (like a motorized gas proportioning valve). Each of 2 separate output channels can also be independently configured for either 0-5V or 0-10V DC output by moving a jumper on the board. These are a $200 item, when new. The buyer(s) of the new 8CLS controllers will have the first option on these at $35 each. After the controllers are sold, I will offer any remaining Dual DACs for $65 each.

*DZC output is capable of sending 60 DC pulses per second (one every AC line cycle) to drive solid state relays for extremely precise temperature control. With this output you can use a comparatively low cost zero-crossing solid state selay to mimic an expensive zero-fired SCR power controller.
